About energy star
About Energy Star
Provia has partnered with ENERGY STAR® since 2002 to ensure that we produce energy-efficient, professional-class windows and doors that meet or exceed their certified criteria. ENERGY STAR windows and doors have been independently tested and certified to meet strict energy-efficiency standards set by the Environmental Protection Agency. Our engineers have worked closely with the voluntary ENERGY STAR program to design and produce entry doors and replacement windows that provide energy savings and value to our customers.
We are proud to have been recognized over the years for our efforts. In 2022, we received our 15th Energy Star Partner of the Year Sustained Excellence Award from the US Environmental Protection Agency and the Department of Energy.

Energy efficiency & sustainability
Energy Efficiency & Sustainability
We are committed to exercising corporate environmental stewardship because it aligns with our Core Values of Integrity, Continuous Improvement and Sustainability. Every day, we strive to do our part to protect our natural resources by recycling, reusing materials where appropriate, and reducing pollution emissions.
In 2021, we completed installation of a 1.792 MW solar array at our stone manufacturing facility, comprised of 4,480 solar panels. It is expected to reduce electrical power consumption by 60% and to prevent emission of 1,472 tons of CO2 annually.
Sustainable product development is important to ProVia—in addition to the solar array, our stone manufacturing plant employs rainwater holding tanks and uses recycled water on the production line, our residential metal shake and slate roofs are manufactured from domestically sourced recycled steel, and our siding products contribute to LEED and ICC 700 National Green Building standards.

Summer
Summer
- Thin glass radiates heat and fails to block UV rays. Once heat gets in, it is locked inside. Your air conditioner has to work overtime to remove it and cool the glass.
- The strong Mojave Desert winds can push dust through the gaps in your windows and doors, making your home less healthy and clean.
- Cool air produced by your air conditioner escapes through gaps in windows and doors. Imagine dollar bills flying out of your home 24/7, unabated.

Added benefit: Your home becomes healthier and cleaner. Dust, dirt and vermin stay outside!
What is Leed Certification?
Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) is a non-profit/non-government agency developed by US Green Building Coucil (USGBC) in 1998 to encourage sustainable building practices in several different markets.
The LEED certification program is the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction, and operation of green buildings. It is a voluntary program that can be applied to any building type and any building life-cycle phase. It promotes the whole-building approach to sustainability by recognizing performance in key categories. For a building to become LEED certified, it must meet specific prerequisites and achieve specified performance levels to quality for rating points.
All rating categories can achieve one of four levels of certification. ProVia Endure Windows and Doors by Sol-Up products can contribute to LEED points in three credit categories, helping your project satisfy all prerequisites to be certified. The three categories are as follows:
- Energy and Atmosphere (EA) – Encourages a variety of energy strategies such as reducing carbon impact and energy consumption.
- Material and Resources (MR) – Encourages sustainably grown, harvested, produced, and transported products and materials.
- Regional Priority (RP) – Encourages use of regional products to reduce carbon impact of fossil fuels in transportation and to support local economies.
